They both pleaded not guilty and the matter was postponed to March 4 for continuation of trial.

Prosecuting, Ms Nomthandazo Mafu, told the court that the allegations are that on February 2 at around 5PM along 10th Avenue, the accused persons and the one identified as Larry who is still at large had a misunderstanding with Blessing Tinashe Kambashe, the complainant and insisted that he should go home since he was drunk.

“The complainant did not comply with the accused persons’ instructions and this did not go well with the accused persons.

“They ganged upon him and they proceeded to assault the complainant by striking him several times with clenched fists, open hands, plastic chair and unknown objects thereby inflicting injuries all over the body,” said Ms Mafu.

The court heard that the complainant was assisted by other people who were nearby and referred him to Mpilo Central Hospital for medical treatment and examination.
