Bulawayo Eats Awards to crown the city’s best

The aroma of anticipation is rising in Bulawayo, as Bulawayo Eats, a food delivery platform, is setting the stage for a landmark culinary celebration: the first-ever Bulawayo Eats Awards.

Scheduled for November 22 at the Kings Kraal, the awards will honour the city’s food heroes, celebrating the people, passion, and creativity that make Bulawayo’s culinary scene one of Zimbabwe’s most exciting.

More than just a trophy night, the awards are a lavish toast to the ecosystem that keeps the city’s tables brimming. From chefs and wait staff to restaurateurs, bakers, butchers, and supermarkets, the event recognises the talent, dedication, and innovation that shape every dining experience.

The awards will cover 10 diverse categories, reflecting the full spectrum of Bulawayo’s food culture.
1. Takeaway of the Year – for masters of convenience and quick delights
2. Chef of the Year – honouring culinary creativity and excellence
3. Waiter/Waitress of the Year – recognising front-line ambassadors of hospitality
4. Bakery of the Year – for artisans crafting irresistible baked goods
5. Butchery of the Year – spotlighting purveyors of quality cuts
6. Supermarket of the Year – the cornerstone of kitchen supplies
7. Best Traditional Cuisine – celebrating the heart and soul of local flavours
8. Best International Cuisine – a passport on a plate for global taste experiences
9. Best Braai Spot – the quintessential Zimbabwean outdoor dining experience
10. Restaurant of the Year – celebrating the pinnacle of dining experiences
