A BULAWAYO family is appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating a missing woman who disappeared almost two and a half years ago in February 2024.
65-year-old Nomthandazo Ndubiwa (65) disappeared from her home in Bulawayo after an argument over business dealings with her estranged husband, according to missing granny sister Mrs Nokuthula Zulu.
“My sister has been missing for a few years after she and her estranged husband disagreed over the handling of finances from a motor spares business that they were operating together,”
The couples’ daughter who was financing her parents’ joint business venture passed away in the UK in November 2022.
Thats when the misunderstanding between the couple started until it led to be disappearance of the missing granny, according to Mrs Zulu.
“We have been trying to locate my sister to no avail since she left Zimbabwe to buy motor spares in Botswana with her then husband,” said Mrs Zulu
“The two had been running a business together, which had been financed by their daughter as a way of supporting her parents so they had no choice but to work together even when their relationship and marriage was not in a good space,” said Mrs Zulu.
Police reports about the missing granny were made to authorities in Zimbabwe and Botswana about more than two years later a breakthrough into what happened to Ndubiwa remains elusive.
The family seeks assistance to locate their loved one.
“We are traumatised as a family. My sister is an elderly woman who is missed by her family. We appeal to the public in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, where she was supposedly last believed to be headed to assist us,” she said.
Mrs Zulu said the husband of the missing granny is believed to be in the neighbouring country and has reportedly professed ignorance about the whereabouts of Ndubiwa.
