BULAWAYO Metropolitan Province finished third at the Robert Mutsauki inter-provincial championships held in Harare at the weekend.
Harare were crowned champions after amassing 10 gold medals, 17 silver and eight bronze.
In second place was Mashonaland Central with eight gold, three silver and four bronze.

Bulawayo province had five gold medals, four silver and three bronze medals.
Gold medals from Bulawayo came from Ryan Dube in the long jump with a leap of 6.64m. Ochechukwu Onovo also got gold for Bulawayo in the women’s high jump, with a height of 1.53m.
Denzel Siamulela won the 200m men’s final after finishing in 20.71 seconds with Esnath Ndlovu being first in the 3 000m final with a time of 10 minutes 49 seconds.
The event, organised by the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (Naaz), was an opportunity for athletes to improve their times with the hope of qualifying for the 2023 World Athletics Championships to take place in Budapest, Hungary. The World Championships are set for August 19-27.
In 2019 and 2022, athletes will be able to qualify for the World Championships by achieving entry standard or through their placing on the world rankings.
Qualifying times for the 100m events for men and women are 10.00 seconds and 11.08 seconds respectively.
For 10 000m, athletes will have to clock 27 minutes 10.00 seconds for men and 30 minutes 40.00 seconds, with the 5 000m events’ qualifying times being 13 minutes 07.00 seconds (men) and 14 minutes 57.00 seconds (women).
For marathon, the qualifying times are 2 hours 9 minutes 40 seconds for men and 2 hours 28minutes for women.
