BULAWAYO Mayor Councillor David Coltart has been recalled by his party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
In a letter addressed to the Minister of Local Government and Public Works Danie Garwe, the CCC said Cllr Coltart has seized to be a member of the party.
“Notification and declaration of a councillor elected under Citizens Coalition for Change and have seized to be a member of the CCC.
“Kindly be advised that the Councillor was elected under the Citizens Coalition for Change political party and has ceased to be a member of the CCC. Kindly proceed in terms of the relevant provisions of the Constitution of Zimbabwe (Section 129K) relating to members who have ceased to be members of a political party which they were elected under,” said Senator Tshabangu.
Other members of the CCC that have also been recalled are Bulawayo Central Member of Parliament Honourable Surrender Kapoikulu, Imbizo (Kwekwe) Member of Parliament Honourable Corban Madzivanyika and Honourable Togarepi Zivai Mhetu, who is the Member of Parliament for Epworth North.
