Organisers have announced that no alcohol or cooler boxes will be permitted inside the venue at the highly anticipated Bulawayo Shutdown event this Saturday.
The annual event, set to be held at Queens Sports grounds, will showcase performances from South African rapper Kwesta, along with Murumba Pitch, Aymos, and local artistes such as Enzo Ishall, Killer T, Saintfloew, Jah Master, Mzoe 7, and a line-up of talented DJs.
The event’s spokesperson, Jordan Dube said: “Attendees of the Bulawayo Shutdown event are advised that outside alcohol and cooler boxes will not be permitted on the premises, as all refreshments, including beer and food, will be available for purchase inside the venue. Bringing food from outside is also not allowed.”
He emphasised that security at the event will be stringent, with weapons being at the top of the list of prohibited items at the venue.
Quizzed on preparations for the event, Dube said they are progressing smoothly.
“Advance tickets are moving fast, and we urge everyone to purchase theirs before Friday as prices will increase then. VVIP tickets are 95% sold, so things are looking very promising.”
He mentioned that all artistes from Harare and South Africa are scheduled to arrive in Bulawayo on the day of the show, ensuring they have ample time for sound checks.
