A BULAWAYO social entrepreneur and influencer Ms Pretty Sibanda who operates under the brand name Pritty-Sibbs yesterday celebrated February, the month of love, with orphans at Queen Elizabeth Adventist Children’s Home.

Ms Sibanda said while it is a norm that on Valentine’s Day people do a lot of activities that revolve around showing love and affection for each other, children at homes were usually not considered.

She had a party for the 28 children at the Home under the theme “Love month, loving orphan.” Ms Sibanda also donated food, clothes, pads and also brought jumping castles, balloons and a trampoline.

“Having grown up as an orphan, I certainly understand how it feels to be one. I was brought up by my aunties and they also gave me a chance to go to school and experience all the fun,” she said.

Most of the children at the home are orphans. “These children spend most of their time confined in these institutions and they have limited movements.

It is therefore our duty to cater for them because we expect the best from them,” said Ms Sibanda. She said she was taking care of three orphans, including paying their school fees. Ms Sibanda said she plans to set up an organisation to cater for underprivileged children and orphans.
