Bulawayo restaurant, Ja’Dijo, which is on the verge of attracting new customers and time, giving an opportunity to local artistes to make ends meet through their craft, has come up with an event called”Taste the Music”, which will be held at their premises monthly.
The first edition of”Taste the Music”, set for 18 October will see artistes in the names of multi-award-winner Msiz’Kay, La Dee, Guitarist Kinah The Music as well as Luchi Shiki taking to the stage, with Bryce DJ Klasiq as well DJ Fritz taking care of the decks.
Qhelokuhle Dube, who is the manager at Ja’Dijo said that they were launching the music movement as a way of complimenting various activities and services they are already offering at the restaurant.

“Music is a universal language that unifies people despite their different backgrounds. As such, food is also an important aspect of life that brings people together, where there is a gathering, people expect to eat. As Ja’ Dijo, we saw that music and food can’t be separated hence we decided to create something that will combine the two.
“We already have other activities at the restaurant like painting as well as the Karaoke nights, but we decided to craft the “Taste the Music” movement as a way of attracting more customers at our premises, giving them an opportunity to enjoy their food and drinks while listening to good music.
“At the same time, we want to give local creatives a chance to showcase their talent and be able to sustain themselves with the little they will get from these events. As we start with Msiz’ Kay and other guys on the line-up, we will make sure that we rotate local artistes on the upcoming editions so as to afford everyone equal chances,” said Dube.

Msiz’Kay who has proven to be a crowd puller and a favourite to many in the city and beyond said he is fully pumped up for the performance and gave credit to stakeholders who made it possible for the movement to be alive.
“I am super excited to be a part of the “Taste the Music” team and to be performing at the inaugural event. I am also humbled by the support from Ja’Dijo, Afro chord Sound and Entertainment, Urban Legend Pictures and other stakeholders.
“As we kick start the movement, it’s going to be a night to remember. I encourage music and food lovers to come and enjoy live performances of Msiz’Kay songs, which they know and love and sample new unreleased music served fresh and hot for all to enjoy,” said the muso.
