AN absorbing tie between two traditional rivals provided a befitting finale to the Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival at Prince Edward School yesterday.

Churchill Bulldogs won the final match of the jamboree to finish the festival unbeaten while the PE Tigers with bruised egos after falling to the team they hate losing to the most.

“Make no mistake about it, this is not the end, we will get our revenge the next time we meet,” said PE head coach Sean De Souza.

“The better team won and for that I wish to congratulate them.“My boys are a young crop and they are still learning, hopefully by the time we start the season I would have fine tuned our unit into a winning force.”

Churchill got their tries from Wilson Mubaiwa, Love Muderere and a brace by Takudzwa Mundandishe.
Fullback Tendai Muringai and Muderere added more points with the boot as the former converted a penalty while the latter had two conversions.

Tapiwa Marimira (brace) and Sean Mupanemunda touched down for the hosts while Tinotenda Shavanhu and Tanaka Mutembeza added a conversion each.
