where they reportedly smash windowpanes and fish out valuables.
Although police spokesperson for Bulawayo Province, Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo said they had not received any report, residents who spoke to Chronicle said they were being terrorised by the burglars.
They said the burglars were targeting valuables like cellphones and clothes.
This is not the first time that residents from the suburb have reported an increase of burglary cases.
Last year a number of houses around Bullet Shopping Centre, near Mandwandwe High School were broken into.
The burglars, residents said, usually pounce at night.
Residents who spoke on condition of anonymity fearing to fall victims said many houses were broken into last week.
Residents appealed to the police to increase night patrols in the suburb.
“We used to have community watch committees but they stopped when we thought the situation was back to normal.
“Now they have started again and we do not know if people will be willing to patrol at night,” said one resident.
Insp Moyo appealed to members of the community to report the incidents saying it was not easy for the police to stamp out such criminal activity when people are not reporting.
