Bus breakdown

Sports Reporter
THE luxury coach ferrying the Zimbabwe senior national football team to Malawi for today’s African Cup of Nations qualifier yesterday had what Zifa said was a minor breakdown soon after leaving the capital.

It developed a clutch problem before reaching Murewa.

Zifa communications manager, Xolisani Gwesela, confirmed the clutch mishap but downplayed its magnitude.

“It was just a minor problem and nothing to write home about really. I was informed by the bus manager that it developed a clutch problem which was a bit higher than normal and it was adjusted,” said Gwesela.

He said the mishap did not distract the Warriors from today’s job.

“The guys have already crossed the Mozambican border as I speak and are actually heading towards the Malawian border,” said Gwesela.

Malawi yesterday declared today’s encounter a must win tie with head coach Young Chimodzi saying there is no room for a loss.
