Bus crew, passengers arrested for possession of dagga

A bus driver and his conductor were arrested along with two other passengers for allegedly possession of dagga weighing 62 kilogrammes.

Police intercepted the bus in a roadblock along Masvingo-Beitbridge road. Police confirmed the arrest of the four suspects in a statement on X (formerly known as twitter).

“On 22 September 2024 members of the police who were deployed at a security roadblock at 10 kilometre peg along Masvingo-Beitbridge Road intercepted an Inter Africa bus and arrested the bus driver, Tonderai Mafo (48) and bus conductor, Mberikunashe Allen (25) as well as two passengers Pauline Mudakuvaka (38) and Alice Mutanda (68) for illegal possession of 62 kilograms of dagga,” read the statement.

The quartet is expected in court soon.
