AN emerging businessman has provided water for his community at Mabelreign Shopping Centre who had gone for years using a bush pump borehole.
Jesse Takavadii, who operates a car wash, has replaced a bush pump with an electric pump to provide more water for the market place, shopping centre and the community at large.
Takavadi has also put up tanks for the market place and for the council offices.
“The market place and shopping centre were using a bush pump borehole where it was not easy to get water.
“Imagine the demand of water and the use of a bush pump.
“I just thought of giving back to the community, where we operate our car wash from,” Takavadii said.
Takavadii said his business of car wash depended on water so it was also going to lessen the burden of looking for water to wash cars.
He said it was his wish that the community uses the water wisely.
A resident, Tapiwa Matare, said the electric pump was a shot in the arm for the local community.
“There used to be winding queues for water here but this is going to be a thing of the past.
“Water is life and we cherish what Mr Takavadii has done for the community.
“This is wonderful,” said Matare.
