Business continued as usual across Mashonaland East Province on Friday in all the province’s nine districts.

Residents went about their daily activities uninterrupted, while vendors, shop owners, pharmacies, supermarkets and public transport operators continued operating as normal.
A Zimpapers survey in Marondera, supported by reports from across the province, indicated that the situation remained peaceful and calm, with normal business activity prevailing throughout the day.
A vendor, Ms Mercy Matare said she has been selling her goods freely and peacefully.

“Nothing is happening in Marondera and we are happy as vendors because we are doing our businesses freely,” she said.
“There is peace and everyone is doing their business just like any other day. As for me, I will never participate in those demonstrations. I want to focus on looking for money and taking care of my family.”
An entrepreneur from Marondera concurred.
“As an entrepreneur, we are totally against the demonstrations. Our focus is on making money and we are doing exactly that,” he said.
