BUSINESS consulting firm, Mist Corporate Services has called on entrepreneurs to adopt good management skills which are vital for promoting innovation, business growth and competitiveness.
Zimbabwe, just like any other country has witnessed an increase in the rise of entrepreneurs as new types of products and services are being created by start-ups each year.
In an interview, Mist Corporate Services chief executive officer (CEO) Mr Macdonald Siriza said they have developed a platform to assist entrepreneurs to adopt good management skills which are key for their businesses growth.
“Entrepreneurs must have problem-solving skills, communication skills, attentiveness and patience to manage customers effectively. However, a lot of start-ups in the country are failing because they lack these.
“As Mist Corporate Services we run a WhatsApp group where we add all our clients and share generic information for free so as to equip entrepreneurs with good management skills that will enable them to make sound decisions, while it is also an opportunity to network and generate business leads,” he said.

He said he also assists entrepreneurs, who might be in need of guidance in the business consultancy work, as long as they are eager to learn.
Mr Siriza said as entrepreneurs set up their businesses they should not overlook on compliance which was another pillar of their business growth.
“As an organisation, we are passionate about entrepreneur compliance with laws that govern their operations. Compliant entrepreneurs not only contribute to the fiscus of the country but also are likely to create employment. We have assisted a lot of start-ups transform from one-man band to a multitude of employees and branches, with compliance the prerequisite. I believe in helping others achieve their dreams as part of giving back to the community,” he said.
He said for entrepreneurs that were keen to make it and survive, increased visibility was critical on different social media platforms such as Twitter, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram among others.
Mr Siriza said as people are now living in the digital era, being on all social media sites will go a long way to assist entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
“Strong social media visibility and the efforts of marketing are critical for businesses. Start-ups are becoming the leading business models that drive innovation and economic growth across the world, as such they are known for their resilience and creativity. In Zimbabwe, entrepreneurs have had to come up with innovative solutions to problems that are unique to the country.”
Meanwhile, in terms of achievements, Mr Siriza said they have registered more than 2 000 companies and they have more than 100 companies, they do their books of accounts.
On accolades, the organisation has won two awards from the Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Association of Zimbabwe (SMEAZ) in the Accounting and Internal Control (first runner-up) Self-Development (second runner-up) categories in 2022.
While, the same year he also won an award with the Blackbelt Award of Mastery in the Entrepreneurship Development Coach of the year 2022 category (silver winner).
