Zanu PF is seeking to raise US$6 million through a Presidential Fundraising Dinner targeting the business community to support the party’s 23rd Annual National People’s Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Chinhoyi next month.
The date for the Presidential Fundraising Dinner will be announced in due course.
The conference is set to run from October 12 – 17, 2026.
Zanu PF Fundraising Committee chairman responsible for resource mobilisation, Cde Phillip Chiyangwa, confirmed that the Presidential Fundraising Dinner is targeting to raise US$6 million.
“We are pleased to announce that there is significant interest from various business entities to participate in the Presidential Fundraising Dinner, which will be held on a date to be announced,” he said.
“I am here to provide regular updates as our conference approaches. Ahead of the conference, we will host a legacy dinner in honour of our President, Dr E.D. Mnangagwa.
“We have also met members of the business community to discuss the allocation of tables and how the process will be managed.”
Cde Chiyangwa said there was strong enthusiasm within the business community to engage directly with President Mnangagwa.
“I am looking at businesses across the board, regardless of size. We want to offer everyone an opportunity to come to the table and meet the President, and to discuss their aspirations and expectations.
“The success we are witnessing today is a result of the contributions people have made over time. Our President has taken those contributions and transformed them into the success story we are seeing, and reading about, every day,” said Cde Chiyangwa.
He said the meeting recognised that while fundraising was important, the party also set targets that reflected the support and expectations of the business community.
“These targets are informed by those who support the party.
“We met as a fundraising committee to discuss various issues relating to fundraising and other matters involving the party and its structures,” said Cde Chiyangwa.
“We want members of the business community to come forward and celebrate together with the President.
“In your respective provinces, please take note that in the coming years our offices expect you not to be left out. We will establish the targets and expected contributions, and as we prepare the shortlist, we will make a commitment to attend and contribute towards the conference.”
Speaking at the same Press conference, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said preparations for the 23rd Annual National People’s Conference were progressing well.
“The conference will review the implementation of Government programmes linked to party policies and assess progress towards Vision 2030,” he said. Ambassador Mutsvangwa said the conference is scheduled to take place from October 12 to 17, 2026, at Chinhoyi University of Technology in Mashonaland West Province.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme: “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment Towards Vision 2030.”
He said the event promised to be a landmark gathering for party members, providing a platform to review the party’s achievements and challenges since the last conference.
“Attendees will have a unique opportunity to appreciate the implementation of President Mnangagwa’s ambitious Vision 2030 agenda, which is aimed at transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030,” he said.
During the conference, Ambassador Mutsvangwa said participants could expect in-depth discussions on strategies to accelerate economic development, promote investment and foster empowerment among citizens.
He said party leaders would outline concrete measures being taken to translate resolutions into tangible actions that uplift communities and improve the well-being of Zimbabweans.
“The conference will also feature a range of presentations, workshops and panel discussions focusing on various sectors, including agriculture, industry, education and health. The goal of these sessions is to engage stakeholders and encourage collaboration towards achieving national development goals,” said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.
The conference, he added, would also provide an opportunity for the party to reinforce its commitment to social justice and equality while addressing some of the pressing socio-economic challenges facing the country.
Party members and the broader community have been invited to come together, share ideas and contribute towards a brighter future for Zimbabwe.
At least 7 000 delegates are expected to attend the conference.
