Businessman summoned to court

Justice Amy Tsanga granted an unopposed application by Caroline Njeke seeking the removal of her half-brother, Jemias Njeke, as executor of the estate of their late father, Eliphas Ndide Njeke.

Businessman Tichaona Danny Kasukuwere has been summoned to the High Court by his former wife, Midiah Changachirere, who is claiming a half share of their substantial joint estate.

The couple was married under customary law, and Changachirere is demanding an equal share of the multiple properties and businesses acquired over their 29-year marriage.

The summons was filed in the High Court Family Division under Case No. HCHF3891/25 on September 11.

It asserts the existence of a “tacit universal partnership” during the duration of their unregistered customary law union, which Kasukuwere formally terminated on September 7, 2025, by presenting the customary divorce token (gupuro).

In her declaration, Changachirere argues that the partnership spanned nearly three decades and contends that it would be “manifestly unjust” for her to leave the unregistered customary union empty-handed.

Changachirere further highlights her significant financial and domestic contributions over the years, including her salary as an Information Technology Specialist at Barclays Bank, where she earned more than Kasukuwere when they married in 1996.

She contributed her earnings to household expenses and business ventures.

Notably, she also sold her personal property in Msasa Park in 2004 to help complete the matrimonial home located at 737 Mount Pleasant Heights, Harare.
