TWO suspected drug dealers were arrested in Rusape on Monday after their customer, who stole from his mother to buy drugs, unmasked them to the police.
Luis Tinashe Sibanda (28), of 2261 Old Magamba, was arrested after for allegedly stealing household property at his home.
His mother reported him to the police.
During questioning by the police, Sibanda admitted to stealing the items to buy drugs and named the suppliers as Philip Chinganga (27), and Richard Charuza (68), both of Vengere.
Acting Manicaland police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the arrest.
He said detectives raided Chinganga’s house and recovered several drugs.
“On June 8, 2026 police detectives arrested Luis Tinashe Sibanda (28) on allegations of stealing his mother’s household goods.
“Upon being interviewed by the detectives, Sibanda confessed to stealing from his mother and exchanging the goods for drugs at house number 180 BC Vengere, Rusape.
“On the same date, a raid was conducted at the said house. A search conducted in the house led to the identification of Chinganga, seated in one of the rooms.
“A search was conducted in his presence, which led to the recovery of ten black plastic bags with loose dagga, 22x100ml of Broncleer cough syrup and 78 sachets of crystal meth.
“The accused person was subsequently arrested.”
He added:“Further information was received to the effect that the drugs sold at the house were stored in a room rented by Charuza.
“A search was conducted at Charuza’s place of residence and 300 sachets of crystal meth were recovered in one room that was locked.
“The accused person was subsequently arrested.”
