TYRES will burn, Engines will scream!
And Bulawayo will tremble.
Zimbabwe’s motorsport calendar reaches its peak on 6 December, when the country’s top racers and bikers descend on the Bulawayo Motorsport Park for the Annual Endurance Race Day, the biggest event of the year.
After the roaring success of October’s drag racing finale, anticipation is high for a day that promises speed, stamina and spectacle. The event will feature a three hour endurance race for cars and a one hour endurance duel for bikes, drawing elite competitors from Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.
Reigning national champion Calvin Rademeyer teams up with Angela Tavares in the sports car class, forming one of the headline partnerships of the meet. The endurance format will test every facet of performance, strategy, teamwork and mechanical resilience as competitors push man and machine to their limits over several hours of relentless action.
The bike section is equally loaded, with full grids confirmed across multiple engine classes. Riders from the region are set to go wheel-to-wheel for supremacy, bringing an international edge to this home-grown spectacle.
The event follows October’s blockbuster drag race finale, which drew over 3,000 fans and featured 51 entries across cars and bikes. Sponsored by Castrol HP Loops and supported by Wildcat Energy Drinks, that meet set a new bar for local motorsport.
Fans were treated to electric performances from Zambian Racing Team 313, who swept the 1000cc and 750cc bike classes, while local favourite Matthew Schultz clinched victory in the 600cc category. The car finale capped it off in style as Aidan “Boon” White edged Zambia’s Ikrama “King Bux” in a turbocharged duel between a Skyline 3.0L 4×4 and a Mercedes GLS 6.3.
“The energy and turnout in October showed us just how strong the motorsport community is here,” said rider and event contributor David Mouat, who competed in the 250cc class. “December’s event is on track to be even bigger and better.”
Racing runs from 8 AM to 6 PM, with organisers promising a full day of high speed drama, live commentary, and family entertainment. Food vendors, merchandise stands, and community activities will complete the festival atmosphere.
Fans are encouraged to come early, bring friends and family, and be part of what’s shaping up to be the ultimate motorsport celebration of 2025.
