FIVE years after his passing, the legendary Dan Tshanda, founder of Dalom Music, will be remembered in a tribute concert in Bulawayo.

Scheduled for July 27 at the Large City Hall, the event promises a night of nostalgia, celebrating the life and music of the icon.
Spearheaded by Gregory Ncube, the concert brings together a collaborative effort from Ezra Tshisa Sibanda, Mdu Mdlongwa of 3D Events and Dee Nosh.

Fans can expect a powerful performance line-up featuring all the groups that rose to prominence under the Dalom Music banner.
This includes the unforgettable melodies of Matshikos, Peacock, Montana, By4 and Dalom Kids. Adding a local touch, Insimbi ZeZhwane will also grace the stage.

The commemorative concert promises to be a captivating journey through the musical legacy of Dan Tshanda. It will be a night for Dalom Music fans, new and old, to come together and celebrate the music that continues to resonate with audiences across generations.

“We realised that it has been long since we lost Dan Tshanda and there was no event held to celebrate his life through music. It had always been a culture to have a Dan Tshanda show every two years before he passed on but now everything just went quiet and it is as if people have forgotten about them.

So I am now bringing back the culture to remind people that the Dalom stable still exists. We would have loved to have more local artists participating too, but at the moment we have Insimbi ZeZhwane.

“All performances will be live. People should come and they know that this show will be an experience of a lifetime as we commemorate the late music legend,” he said.

Dan Tshanda was known for his Disco sound, Splash which became popular in shebeens and nightclubs.
