Byo to hos Pre-beach Volleyball series tournment

THE Bulawayo Volleyball Association (BVA) will hold their 4th edition of the inaugural pre-beach volleyball series tournament that is set start on 21and runs up to 22 September at the Bustaz Sports Club in Hillside, Bulawayo.

This year’s series will see participants from Bulawayo volleyball league, schools, institutions and volleyball sportspersons in the communities squaring off in women, men and mixed doubles categories.

BVA chairperson William Mazviro revealed that they were expecting a good turnout in this year’s tournament and they had invited people from all over Bulawayo to take part as a way of promoting growth of the sport in the region.

“We are expecting a good turnout this year as we are trying to sell the sport to quite number of high school students and adults in the eastern communities who have not been able to actively take part in the sport.

“Beach volleyball is a sport and leisure and this will be a very good opportunity for all the people who will participate,” said Mazviro.

The tournament will also give space to National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) to prepare for their games.
Winners from men, women and mixed doubles will be presented with floating trophies at the 2019 awards ceremony.
