SIX Bulawayo players did the city proud after winning their respective duels in the Inter Association Singles Pool Tournament in Beitbridge on Saturday. It was an all Bulawayo affair in the final as Steven Pasuwano beat Costa Tamanikwa 2-0 to walk away with $400 while Tamanikwa got $200. On their way to the final Pasuwano beat Brian Dziko 2-0 while Tamanikwa emerged 2-1 victorious over Wonder Joya of Gwanda.

Donald Wadawu, Bulawayo Pool Association marketing and publicity secretary said the game was exciting.

“The games were exciting. We’re happy and we hope they improve on their skills and maintain discipline,” said Wadawu.

He said they were impressed with the level of performance and quality of the game and that they were preparing for more competitive games that are yet to come.

Other winners were Joya who got $150 and fourth placed Brian Dziko walked away with $100.

Players were battling it out in a best of three trays and there were four tables they competed from to try and accommodate as many matches as possible.
