CAAZ delegation attends the SADC Aviation Safety Organisation in Eswatini

The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe director general, Mr George Mashababe, is leading a delegation attending the SADC Aviation Safety Organisation (SASO)’s Civil Aviation Committee (CAC) meeting, in Mbabane, Eswatini.

Mr Mashababe is chairing the event, which is being attended by senior aviation and government officials.

Among other key discussions, the meeting is set to receive an update on the status of implementation of CAC decisions as well as progress on the 2025/2026 Work Plan up to 31 January 2026, including milestones and challenges.

A new work plan for 2026/2027 shall be proposed for adoption by the director generals, setting the strategy trajectory for the new year.

The SASO Civil Aviation Committee is made up of director generals from civil aviation authorities from the SADC region, responsible for strategic planning, formulation and ensuring implementation of the SASO programmes and projects.

Its main functions include developing aviation safety policies and giving general directions on the implementation and achievement of the objectives and functions of the SASO.
