CAAZ holds 6th AGM

The Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe this morning held its 6th Annual General Meeting for the financial year ending December 31, 2020.

The other Annual Reports for the financial years ending December 31, 2021, 2022, and 2023 will be presented soon with most already complete.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Deputy Minister Joshua Sacco, chairman of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Development, Cde Knowledge Kaitano, CAAZ chairperson Mrs Nonkosi Ncube, deputy chairperson Mr Joshua Muhwati and

CAAZ director general Dr Elijah Chingosho, among other senior government officials, attended the event.

Deputy Minister Sacco told the meeting that while this AGM was long overdue, he was happy that the authority was holding it to fulfill the requirements of the Public Entities Corporate Governance (PECOG) Act (chapter 10:31).

“The presentation of the 2020 Annual Report is a step forward for the authority and I look forward to the annual reports for the financial years ending December 31, 2021, 2022, and 2023 being presented soon so that the authority is up to date and in full compliance with the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act,” he said.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind the authority of Section 194 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe which clearly states that public administration in public entities must be governed by democratic values and principles.”.
