The Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services yesterday announced that the next sitting of Cabinet will be on Monday July 6. The ministry quoted Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, as saying that the Cabinet sitting would be held at the usual venue and time.

“The Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr M. J. M Sibanda wishes to advise all members of Cabinet that the next Cabinet meeting will be held on Monday 6th July at the usual time and venue,” read the statement.

Cabinet traditionally sits on Tuesdays, but the sittings can be shifted to any other day if there is pressing business on a Tuesday.

Since the beginning of this year when President Mugabe assumed the African Union chairmanship, Cabinet has been held on days other than Tuesdays due to the President’s busy schedule, which demands that he attends to AU and business more often.

President Mugabe is also the chairperson of sadc.
