CAF A course returns as Zifa opens applications

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has opened applications for the long-awaited CAF A Coaching Licence course, offering local coaches an opportunity to attain one of the continent’s highest coaching qualifications without travelling outside the country.
The course, scheduled for August, comes after a lengthy absence of the CAF A programme in Zimbabwe, a situation that had forced many aspiring elite coaches to seek the qualification in neighbouring countries at significant additional cost.
Zifa has pegged the course fee at US$2,000.
The return of the CAF A course is expected to be welcomed by coaches across the country, particularly those working in the Premier Soccer League and the country’s various lower divisions, where the qualification is increasingly becoming a requirement for coaching at the highest level.
