Call to Worship Global will this year celebrate its 15th anniversary with a musical concert in Harare on 30 September 2023, featuring both local and international gospel artists.
Call to Worship Global was founded as Call to Worship Zimbabwe in 2008, initially serving as an annual inter-denominational gathering with the aim of spreading the gospel through praise and worship, while bringing together Christians from across the nation.
Call to Worship Global founder Pastor Philip Pike said the annual music and gospel festival had over the years become a beacon of hope and togetherness in the Zimbabwean Christian community.
“The first 15 years have been a period of establishment, laying the foundation for what the next 15 years will require,” he said. “Our vision is to empower worshippers and musicians, enabling them to spread the message of unity and love across the nation and beyond.
“We have lined up several gospel musicians including Michael Mahendere, Curt Hardy from South Africa, several teams from South Africa and Zambia, and the Call to Worship Choir, among others, to help us celebrate this important milestone.”
The musical celebrations – running under the theme “From Glory to Glory” – will be held at Harare Gardens and is expected to attract over 5 000 participants.
Last year’s event was held in Mabvuku, Harare.
From its inception in 2008, the event has witnessed numerous churches coming together, bridging denominational divides and fostering an atmosphere of love and worship.
Call to Worship Global has also provided a platform for many musicians and groups to showcase their God-given talent, giving rise to several talented artists who have gone on to pursue successful careers in music.
To continue its legacy, Call to Worship Global plans to establish a musical college and recording studio, aimed at nurturing and empowering aspiring musicians.
“By providing comprehensive training and resources, we hope to foster a culture of excellence in worship music across Zimbabwe. We are looking forward to what God has instore for us for the next 15 years,” said Pastor Pike.
In addition to this year’s main event, Call to Worship Global has also organised a special session for the youth called Youth Power Praise, to be held earlier in the day until late afternoon.
“Recognising that not everyone is academically inclined, we aim to provide creative arts, dance, song writing and singing sessions for young attendees,” said Pastor Pike. “This initiative seeks to empower the youth, allowing them to express their faith through creativity and the arts.”
