The longest distance for a student is transferring information from head to the exam answer sheet.
If you think the longest distance is walking to campus, you are kidding yourself. If you want to be powerful, educate yourself. It’s that simple.
Honestly, the academic journey is not a walk in the park nor manna on a silver plate, as some would want to say.If you graduate, just know you have fought a good fight. It’s a struggle and it’s real.
We only achieve because we have determination to get the liberty that comes with education.
The frustrations which come with going to college are at times unbearable. Many of us have failed to make it due to unforeseen reasons beyond their control.
Most people agree on the importance of education, but only a fraction of that is truly aware of the impact of education on our lives.
But it’s a known fact that education comes with a lot of tasks, it is actually a mammoth task. The assignments, the workload, it’s something else.
While we may know that educating ourselves gives us some liberty, some still think there is nothing much to take home from education. There are individuals who can boast and say they have achieved what they want without education.
Education is important musanyeperwe (don’t be fooled).
In education, there is great authority and after this struggle, we ought to celebrate when we get to the finishing line.
Allow me to say happy Independence to all of us fellow students. Our beloved country is celebrating 43 years of independence and we also ought to be celebrating. As we meditate over the gains of independence, bear in mind that we have our own academic struggle. We are in the struggle to emancipate ourselves and the fight requires a big fight.
Against the background that education doesn’t pay, I still insist, the ultimate goal of education is to help an individual navigate life and contribute to society.
Despite many students falling from the pursuit of this journey either to pursue other means, education is still relevant.
I hear some sections, saying education is nothing, trying to discourage others.
Yes, the amount of work that one has to put in to get a college degree is sometimes precisely what improves one’s self-discipline.
While everyone might have a different definition of education, its importance remains undisputed. By receiving a systematic education, people gain knowledge and develop skills and character traits crucial for a certain standard of life.
So pursuing a college or university degree is a person’s choice based on needs, career preferences, and abilities. Whether a university education is a requirement for your preferred career or not, a college degree can significantly impact your future.
I sympathise with fellow colleagues who failed to pursue university or any level of learning after they failed to raise tuition fees.
I have you in my heart, I pray one day you get a chance.
One thing that inspires me, I learn in a class with a 55-year-old woman who is doing the same course with me. Her reasons are that there is power in education.
Yet we have young blood arguing that going to school is a waste.
And once you empower yourself through education, you have some authority and a voice to decide but when you are educated you remain just a mere person unless you have money or power.
Only a few of us have power.
My duty this week is to urge all of us to add value to our skills through education.
Fellow students, if you have an opportunity, grab it and utilise the chance to pursue your education.
Receiving an education has a significant impact not only on our quality of life but on our physical and psychological well-being.
Several young people have chosen the easy and fast way to make money, but trust me, education is important.
They always say, there is a difference between wisdom and intelligence. The learning process is a beautiful thing, but, just like with any career, it can feel frustrating at times. Most of higher education equips you with the knowledge and essential skills necessary to join the workforce.
One of the most vital skills you will develop when pursuing a college degree is the ability to think critically. Critical thinking skills are an advantage and sometimes even a requirement to succeed in your career. By developing critical-thinking skills, you can improve your work’s quality, solve problems, and prevent possible issues that might arise.
Fellow students if we invest in education we can have freedom to choose our career paths as it pleases us. Many of us take education for granted.
As the country celebrates 43 years of independence, let’s also embrace it by putting our focus on learning as it will have some benefits to our self-empowerment.
Have you noticed that when you have education qualifications, you have the power to choose at times which job you want to do.
At times we get to look for jobs and without any qualifications, we are at the mercy of those who want to employ us.
We end up saying, any job for us, rese rese. Fellow students, education helps eradicate poverty and hunger, giving people the chance at better lives. This is one of the biggest reasons why parents strive to make their kids attend school as long as possible.
It is also why nations work towards promoting easier access to education for both children and adults. One of the benefits of education is that the educational system teaches us how to obtain and develop critical and logical thinking and make independent decisions.
When pursuing higher education, you have assignments that you must deliver on time and tests you must study for — all of which require self-discipline.
In education we have improved self-discipline will, in turn, help you in your future career by making you a reliable and hardworking team member. A world without education, will leave us with scars and low level reasoning. But attaining education, we are liberalising ourselves from this struggle. Education also plays a part in learning how to communicate with others and is a highly valuable skill in the job market and one that will significantly contribute to your career success. Pursuing a university or college degree is a great way to further develop your cognitive and communication skills.
During your studies, you will constantly be in contact and collaborate with colleagues and professors, giving your insight into a typical work environment.
One of the most important benefits of education is probably the promotion of equality and empowerment within society. It also make people more open-minded in accepting others’ ideas and opinions regardless of race, gender, age, etc.
In addition, education empowers people through expert knowledge and valuable skills and gives them the mental capacity to make decisions and create a life of their own independently.
A person with an education or degree is most always qualified for more jobs than the average individual.
Each year, it seems that more employers are seeking college graduates for careers in different fields. Also, during economic downturns, college-educated students may have an advantage over other people for the fewer available jobs.
I am very sure many of us will be writing end of semester exams.
Allow me to extend my best wishes to all of you who have just started this most frustrating struggle. I know others can do good but you can all do the best.
