LAST week, they gave the country a glimpse into what our football future looks like and they painted a very beautiful picture.
March Sanchez, in his first game in charge of the Young Warriors, sent out a team which impressed the fans with their dominant display in an Olympic Games qualifier against Mauritius.
The only concern is that the match ended in a 2-0 win.
Everyone who saw that match will tell you that the fair result was probably a 7-0 win for the Young Warriors.
They were more dominant than both England and Argentina, who both ended up winning 7-0 in their matches against Croatia and Burkina Faso.
If there are concerns about Sachez’s men than it has to be their wastefulness but one can forgive them given this was their first game together.
The Spanish coach gave a number of players, who are based in Europe and had never played for their country before, a chance.
And, the majority of them impressed and showed that they have benefitted a lot from the modern facilities and coaching techniques they are exposed to them.
Their performance was so good that some fans even started whispering that Sanchez should have been the one coaching the Warriors.
He is the assistant coach, in the senior national team set-up, to his counterpart Ramon Catala.
There was a lot of positive energy from his team in that win over Mauritius and they will be hoping to finish off the job this evening on the Indian Ocean island.
The match starts at 5pm.
One of the newboys introduced was midfielder Seth Chingwaro, 18, who has already been part of the Manchester City system and has already trained with the Fulham first team.
“Our previous game was good,” he said ahead of the second leg.
“We were quite dominant, I thought the team played well, I think it was quite a statement win and we hoping to do the same on Tuesday (today).
“We got to Mauritius a couple of days ago, we have been able to get in some training sessions before the game.
“We are quite prepared and ready to go.
“The team is very united, we are quite a good group, we are pretty united, we have another 90 minutes to play, hopefully, we can get over the line.”
If they play as well as they did last week, nothing can stop them from going to the next round.
Another teenager, Vernon Masara, who plays for Peterborough in England, was also impressive down the channels.
He was so good on debut that some fans were even calling for him to be drafted into the Warriors.
