Cancer patient appeals for assistance

A 25-YEAR-OLD woman who is suffering from rectal cancer is seeking financial assistance to undergo treatment at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH). Prisca Moyo of Marinoha village in Maphisa District was diagnosed with cancer in January this year. She needs $1,064 to be treated. Marvelous Ndlovu, her aunt, yesterday told The Chronicle that her niece has been admitted at UBH for more than two months, but the family was failing to raise the required amount for her.

“We appeal for financial assistance for our niece to undergo rectal cancer treatment. She can’t even sit and at UBH they told us that they need about $1,064 for her to get treated. We have tried to organise the money as a family for her to be treated, but we could not reach the required target.

We are appealing to members of the public to assist us so that our daughter gets treated and can be relieved from the pain that she is suffering from,” she said. Well-wishers can contact Ndlovu on 0783872286.

In 2014, cancer patients pleaded with the government to help them access cheaper treatment as they could not afford the high charges, especially at private institutions.
