CAPS match record losing run

Sports Reporter
CAPS United have matched their WORST run in the league with their SIXTH straight defeat.

The struggling Green Machine crashed to a comprehensive 0-3 defeat in the Harare Derby at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.

Benjani Mwaruwari’s Ngezi Platinum Stars suffered a shock 0-1 loss at the hands of Whawha at Ascot.

Luke Petros’ strugglers have seemingly reserved their best for the big clubs having thrashed leaders Chicken Inn 3-0 at the same venue.

It was only their third win of the season.

The Gamecocks powered to an impressive 1-0 win over Triangle United at Gibbo despite playing with a man short.

Manica Diamonds edged Tenax 1-0 in a Mutare Derby.

For CAPS United, the record-breaking loss comes exactly 10 years since a similar poor run in 2012.

The Green Machine ended the season, in 2012, on a paltry 39 points, 30 points behind both Dynamos and Highlanders.

CAPS United finished just five points clear of relegation trouble during that season.

Yesterday’s result also means Devon Chafa has lost a Harare Derby for the first time in his career.
