CAPS United have insisted their identity remains green and white and the donated blue tracksuits were never meant to be used in the long-term.
This follows a furious reaction from a section of their fans who want the blue tracksuits, donated by Octopus Gas, to be withdrawn from the club.
They say the colour of the tracksuits is synonymous with their bitter rivals Dynamos.
Octopus Gas responded to an appeal by CAPS United chief executive, Charlie Jones, for the corporate world to assist the Green Machine.
But, the gesture triggered criticism from some of the club’s fans, who feel their team will look like DeMbare.
Rivals Bulawayo Chiefs have already mocked the Green Machine on Twitter.
The fans feel it was disrespectful to place the club’s badge on a blue colour.
The CAPS United National Supporters Association secretary-general, Edward Museke, wrote to Jones demanding the blue tracksuits not to be used.
“I hereby write this note to advise you that CAPS United supporters are demanding that the club stops using the donated blue tracksuits with immediate effect.
“Our club colours are green and white, not blue, unless the club has changed without our knowledge as supporters.
“We say no to the blue colour and we are asking your office to consider this request at your earliest convenience before we see action from the supporters,” reads the letter.
Jones dismissed the narrative that the Green Machine were planning to use the donated tracksuits for the remainder of the season.
He insisted the club appreciated the donation and labelled the donning of the blue tracksuits as a once-off thing.
“As CAPS United, green and white colours remain as our pride and joy,” said Jones.
“We have no intention of abandoning our colour, as green will always be the colour that defines the amazing history of the club.
“The club will not wear the donated regalia again.
“We value the views of the fans.”
He also confirmed that Joel “Josta” Ngonzo, had penned a two year-contract with the club.
All paperwork is believed to be in place, giving coach Llyod Chitembwe more options in his quest to restore the club’s pride.
