CAPS United continue to hang around the relegation zone after dropping points yet again, this time scrambling a draw against Chicken Inn in this Castle Lager Premier Soccer League stalemate at Bata Stadium yesterday.

Though they took their points tally to 27, they are not safe from the chop, at least as yet, as they are only three points above the red zone.

Chicken Inn opened the scoring through Genius Mutungamiri in the 57th minute while Lincoln Mangayira drew the Green Machine level seven minutes later.

It was a game that the Harare giants needed to win to give themselves some breathing space. They have failed to win a match since their 2-0 victory over Greenfuel back in July.

They have picked only four points in their last eight outings and even their fans are beginning to get worried.

But it wasn’t only Makepekepe, who shot themselves in the foot as Chicken Inn too did a major disservice to themselves as they could only gain a point, which took them to 37 and fourth on the log.

They are now seven points behind leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Coach Lloyd Chitembwe was pleased with the performance but disappointed with the result.  “The second half performance was pleasing but what we lacked was decision making in the attacking third,” said Chitembwe.

“With some good decision making and execution, we could have won the match. But this has been the case this season. It’s an opportunity for us to go back to the drawing board and work”.

His Chicken Inn counterpart Prince Matore was also disappointed with the result.
