CAPS United have unveiled a 27-member squad to do duty for the team in the 2024 season.
The team, which has 11 new players who joined from other teams this off season was paraded at a colourful ceremony in Harare yesterday.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe retained 16 members who were part of the Green Machine last season.
And he was full of praise for both the old guard and new arrivals who he said were showing positivity amid an ambience of stability at the club.
“You don’t really get to judge the team based on off season training sessions.
“The real assessment will come in game situations, but I am happy, very happy with how both the new comers and those we retained from last season are showing up,” said Chitembwe.
“I am impressed with how the new guys have fitted in well in the team and you rarely see them alone. They are always with other team members and that teamwork is what we want to see.
“The attitude is really encouraging and so far so good.”
Makepekepe have signed a batch of highly-ranked players including strikers Jayden Bakari who was at Dynamos last term and ex-Black Rhinos star Lot Chiwunga.
They have also taken aboard defender Brian Kadamanja from Yadah, Ralph Kawondera from Manica Diamonds and Everson Mureremba.
Although they have lost one of their best players from last season in Joseph Tulani who joined Chicken Inn last month, Makepekepe have retained most of the players they had.
With Tulani, who was the team vice-captain, Chitembwe has appointed Godknows Murwira and William Manondo as the two vice-captains deputising skipper Tonderai Mateyaunga.
