CAPS United have lived up to their pledge to roll out a new set of kits for the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season which burst into life at Rufaro today.
The Premiership giants may not have been in action as newboys Hunters and 2025 runners-up MWOS kicked off the first match of the new term.
CAPS United are only in action at the same venue on Sunday when they receive debutants Agama.
But they look set to be immaculately dressed when they take to Rufaro pitch.
This is because the former Cup Kings launched new kits for their home, away and alternative strips at a ceremony in Harare on Wednesday night.
CAPS United indicated that their ambition is to ensure they reclaim the league title they last won under former coach Lloyd Chitembwe in 2016.
In fact, silverware of any kind has eluded CAPS United in the last decade.
Last year Makepekepe endured a disappointing campaign, often dabbling with the relegation zone before eventually settling for a lowly ninth place and 43 points, by their lofty standards.
This prompted the club chiefs to undertake a major engine overhaul.

At the heart of this transformation is a renewed sense of purpose, driven by club president, Farai Jere.
CAPS United chief executive Morton Dodzo told guests at the kit unveiling ceremony that the days of mid-table obscurity are over.
Dodzo reaffirmed the club’s unwavering ambition to reclaim its place at the summit of Zimbabwean football.
“This is going to be a different year where we are going to be challenging for the championship,” said Dodzo.
The event was used not only to showcase the team’s new playing colours but also to set the tone for a season of high expectations.
In line with this massive revamp, the Green Machine have been active in the transfer market.
The club have moved swiftly to secure key targets to bolster the squad, with Dodzo confirming that most of the material on coach Takesure Chiragwi’s wish-list has been acquired.
Notable new arrivals include busting striker Obriel Chirinda, midfielder Nyasha Gurende and goalkeeper Wallace Magalane, all of whom are expected to play pivotal roles in the club’s title charge.
To ensure the squad is battle-ready for the challenges ahead, CAPS United lined up a rigorous pre-season programme that included a tour of Malawi.
Influential midfielder Tanaka Shandirwa believes they are now in a position to compete.
“We have been gelling as a team over the weeks and we hope to see us being able to perform well come the league games.
“We are starting with AGAMA and we are ready to collect maximum points,” he said.
