CAPS United came from two goals down to snatch an important away point in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against new boys GreenFuel at the GreenFuel Arena yesterday.

Makepekepe’s in-form forward Rodwell Chinyengetere and Joseph Tulani rescued the game midway through the second half after GreenFuel had scored two goals in two minutes through midfielders Collins Dhuwa and James Nguluve in the first half.

Chances were few and far between in the first half and CAPS United’s first shot on target was a tame and GreenFuel had their first shot on target two minutes later and Dhuwa was at the end of a pinpoint cross from Nelson Mwasanga to give the home side an early lead.

The home side were effective from the wings and got their second goal from Nguluve who finished off another good move involving Tinotenda Mutyambizi and Washington Mapuwa with a looping header that gave CAPS United goalkeeper Ashley Rayners no chance. The latter claimed an assist with a fantastic cross in the 40th minute.

The second half was action packed but belonged to CAPS United. The home side however, have themselves to blame for not finishing the match as a contest when they missed a penalty in the 57th minute after Hastings Chapusha committed a foul on Mwasanga who was unplayable inside the box.

CAPS United regrouped and looked composed at the back after the introduction of Godknows Murwira who replaced Lincoln Mangaira at central defence.

The Green Machine halved the deficit with a good goal from their reliable striker Rodwell Chinyengetere who finished off following a good cross from Bamusi in the 62nd minute.

CAPS United captain Joseph Tulani equalised two minutes later when speedy winger Ian Nyoni left his marker to set up for his captain.

After the equaliser CAPS United managed the game and looked content with a point which certainly guaranteed their safety with 42 points, with two matches to spare.
