Captain Zed hosts first live show

DETE based singer, Kaptain ZED has lined up a musical show for 19 April to bring life to the usually quiet Dete centre.

The night show, which will feature Nozzy Dee, Ento Bouy, Maffia 10, Platinum Cere, N Prince, Nice Guy, Tony J, Leslyey, Cleo Man, Lady Bee, R.G, Father Chozaa, DJ Obiza, DJ Mtafi and DJ Nation will take place at Dete Cocktail Carnivas and is part of Independence Day celebrations in Dete, as the nation celebrates 43 years.

Kaptain ZED, birth name Mandlenkosi Zulu said the show is also meant to raise awareness against drug and substance abuse which is rife among youths and artists, and believes positive messages can influence positive decisions and behaviour.

He will also launch his new album titled Imvelo, at the show.

The main message for the day will be “Say no to drugs.”

Captain ZED who recently released a 13-track album titled Sometimes, believes it is the youths that can help curb the scourge through positive behaviour.

“This will be my first real show and I look forward to the day as we have set it for independence day so that we ride on the celebratory mood of the fans,” he said.

Kaptain ZED has released a number of singles over the years but had not made significant impact owing to lack of marketing and appreciation of music in Dete.

He believes the time for him to make a name. is now.

As part of his efforts to make the grade, Kaptain ZED recently registered with Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (Zimura) to professionalise his music and address challenges of piracy.

Kaptain ZED’s music is a fusion of different genres, blending elements of Dancehall, R&B, and pop to create a sound that is truly his own.

His music is filled with infectious beats, catchy hooks, and meaningful messages that are both uplifting and thought-provoking.

“As a new artist, Kaptain ZED is just getting started on his journey to success, but he has already made significant strides in the music industry, I appeal to my fans and everyone in Dete and surrounding areas to come out in numbers and support this initiative for the betterment of our society,” said Kaptain ZED.
