Car dealer back in court

This is the latest charge, the director of Filton Motors, allegedly swindled desperate car buyers of over US$26 000 in botched deals.
Ruzive (39) is currently on bail pending trial on several fraud cases still pending at Harare magistrates’ courts.
The businessman, who is being represented by Mr Bruce Tokwe of Mlotshwa and Company, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Shane Kubonera.
He was remanded to June 20 on US$100 bail. Ruzive allegedly placed an advert in local newspapers saying he sold imported cars from Japan.
He would make the prospective buyers pay for the cars in full promising to deliver at an agreed date, it is alleged.
Appearing for the State, Ms Svodai Kadivirire says sometime in February last year, Ruzive placed an advert in the local newspapers inviting members of the public to purchase cars from Japan through his company.
In June the same year, the State says, Bernard Casimiro (42) responded to the advert and went to Ruzive’s work place where he met him.
Casimiro, however, told Ruzive that he wanted him to bring him a Nissan Vannete truck, it is alleged.
He was allegedly advised that the truck costs US$6 100.
The two, it is alleged, then agreed on the purchase price and entered into an agreement of sale.
Casimiro, the State says, was told that his car would be delivered in six weeks time.
The court heard that Casimiro never received his car and this prompted him to make a police report that led to Ruzive’s arrest.
