WHILE comedian Carl Joshua Ncube and wife Nelsy were away in Asia on a three-week tour, their adorable dog, Chefie, was run over by a car outside their home in Kadoma and died a few days ago.
The Chow Chow dog which had become a social media sensation as the Ncube’s frequently posted pictures of it had been left in the care of a family friend.
As the couple, which returned home from South Africa two days ago was still reeling from the news of Chefie’s death, more bad news came their way as one of Chefie’s puppies — Griff went missing.
Last year, Chefie birthed a litter of puppies and the couple gave away all of them except Griff.
A distraught Ncube said he was devastated by the death of the dog — which he described as their first born.
“Chefie, our first born had become a part of our lives and we’ll surely miss her. We were in Asia when we heard that she’d been run over. The person didn’t even stop to check if the dog was alright,” said Ncube.
“A search party has been organised to find Griff who had escorted Chefie. Hope they’ll be able to locate him.”
