‘Cassper Nyovest is evil’

HIP-HOP megastar Cassper Nyovest (pictured), whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, has faced a backlash after his ex-partner and son’s mother, Thobeka Majozi, revealed that he cheated on her with his now-wife while their offspring battled cancer.

The news has sparked widespread outrage, with many netizens supporting Majozi and criticising Cassper’s actions.

“I have nothing good to say about Cassper Nyovest. I wish him the worst,” an X user posted.

One social media user accused Cassper of pre-emptive damage control, suggesting that his public admission of sex addiction was a calculated move to mitigate a potential fallout.

Another user highlighted the gender dynamics at play, asserting that parenthood is often viewed as a part-time job for men.

Humorously, Aphelele Tyelbooi noted that even other known cheaters were disgusted by Cassper’s behaviour.

Many netizens expressed anger towards Cassper, particularly criticising the timing of his infidelity during their son’s cancer battle.

Content creator SmallTownDidi took a different approach, calling out men who abandon their partners during difficult times.

She argued that men often view their partners as accessories, disposable when they no longer serve their purpose.

“Part of men’s self-actualisation is the idea of this nuclear family where they are the head, the king and star of the show. Everything else is an accessory and (others) are the side characters to their story,” she said. — Wires

Amapiano star Sha Sha drops new track

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Sha Sha has made a triumphant return to the music scene with her highly anticipated single “Ndawana”.

Focused on personal growth and renewal, she opened up about her exciting comeback, self-evolution and future plans following a two-year hiatus.

After announcing the release date of “Ndawana” in early September, the single officially dropped to positive feedback from fans.

Sha Sha, whose real name is Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro, discussed her return, inspired by her ongoing journey of self-discovery. She felt compelled to share this experience with her audience, believing that her personal growth has deepened her connection to herself and her music.

The break allowed Sha Sha to mature in all aspects of her life, becoming more intentional about her choices.

“It feels good to release music; it feels good to see people’s reactions to what is out now. I believe that the time I have had with myself has helped me connect more deeply, to fall in love with who I am, and to bring that into my work,” explained Sha Sha.

This self-discovery is evident in “Ndawana”, featuring local singer-songwriter Skyes and Amapiano DJ Kelvin Momo.

The single marks her first collaboration with Momo and incorporates her native language, Shona, in the opening verse, paying homage to her roots in Mutare, Zimbabwe.

The BET Award-winning artiste was deliberate about showcasing her identity in the production of the track, emphasising her Shona heritage and incorporating elements reminiscent of Oliver Mtukudzi’s music.

Mapimbiro also reveals that the lyrics of “Ndawana” speak to finding one’s true love and hoping they do not break your heart. However, on a personal level, it represents the importance of self-love and finding oneself before seeking love in someone else.

The single is part of a larger body of work set for release next year, with another single and accompanying visuals expected later this year. — Wires

The upcoming concert has generated excitement among young women in the country, but the controversy surrounding Brown’s past has raised concerns.

Investigation Discovery (ID) is scheduled to release a documentary titled “Chris Brown: A History of Violence”, focusing on his past domestic violence incidents and troubled childhood.

The documentary will premiere on October 27, 2024, as part of the network’s “No Excuse for Abuse” campaign.

Brown’s performance at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg is expected to draw a large crowd, despite his history of violence.
