THE Bulawayo City Council is seriously considering harnessing water from Khami Dam despite the controversy that has erupted over the issue in recent years.
Speaking during a water crisis meeting last week, the Town Clerk, Mr Middleton Nyoni, said the city was conducting a cost benefit analysis with a view to purifying the water.
He said the project was long term as it was dependent on a number of factors.
“As you are aware, Nust (the National University of Science and Technology) is conducting a study on the water. The results will point the way forward. We also need to resuscitate SAST (Southern Areas Treatment) Works,” said Mr Nyoni.
