The Catholic University will today host The Mosaic Cultural Festival at Royalgate Gardens in Chisipite. The festival goes by the theme “Cultural Fusion” and it is meant to promote diversity by creating a platform that is a melting pot of culture from around the world. About 500 visitors and participants from all walks of life are expected to grace this one of a kind festival.There will also be networking opportunities in a relaxed environment where people will showcase their music, art, dance, poetry and food.
Proceeds in cash or kind will go towards university fees for those students from disadvantaged backgrounds that are talented, yet they are unable to pay their tuition.
The chief coordinator of the festival, Chipo Chidakwa said a percentage of all earnings will be donated to charity.
“A percentage will also be allocated to a charity of your choice, we will ask you to nominate one as you arrive at the festival,” she said.
There will be a number of activities and these include a Boma feast with dishes from many countries, arts and culture performances by leading artists, including mbira performances and traditional dancers.
There will also be a Green Art Exhibition and workshops for children and adults using recycled material by The House of Sheba.
Companies that wish to participate pay a fee of $55 for food stands exhibition tables and $100-$250 for corporate stands, inclusive of two banners.
