The wait is over. Issey Miyake, Jean Paul Gautier, Elie Saab and Narciso Rodriguez fragrances have now landed in Harare just in time for the festive season. The four fragrances were launched the same night at CATTS Sam Levy’s Village as well as at the Joina City branch. The launch at Sam Levy’s Village was packed with mostly upmarket customers checking out the fragrances.

Customers were taken around the shop testing the new scents which were ranging from refreshing to very strong.

The beautifully designed Jean Paul Gautier bottles were the most eye-catching. The Frenchman Jean Paul Gautier is popularly known as an influential designer and the design of his bottles speaks volumes.

The female fragrance bottles are shaped into the body of a woman wearing lingerie while the male fragrances bottles are designed into a muscular form.

Narciso Rodriguez fragrances cater for both men and women as well. However, the male fragrances are more popular. His male fragrances have won Best Masculine Fragrance awards for many years.

His fragrances have become envied in the fragrance industry.

The Lebanese fragrances by Elie Saab are beautiful scents which are each created to depict a period of day. The Eau de Toilette 2102 edition is the much softer scent which captures the soft light of morning while the much stronger scent, the Eau de Parfum is more intense.

It is meant to capture the magic moment of dusk. Just as Narciso Rodriguez fragrances are more popular with the men, Issey Miyake fragrances are much more popular with women.

The Japanese designer creates scents for both men and women and his inspiration is the Japanese culture’s emphasis on pure water and bathing which makes his scents much lighter and fresh.

The perfume bottle’s conical shape is also as eye-catching as Jean Paul Gautier bottles, the brushed-steel tip of the bottles were based on the Eiffel Tower view which he had from his hotel when he stayed in Paris.

Perfume is usually considered a luxury but a scent is more than just about smelling good, it is an expression of personality and lifestyle.

This new collection allows for each individual to do just that- express themselves.  In the words of author C Joybell, “everyone needs perfume. Period”.

For you are never fully dressed without perfume!”
