RETURNING professional golfer Marc Cayeux was the best placed local at the on-going Vodacom Origins of Golf held at Simola Golf and Country Estate after an impressive seven-under yesterday. The player, who gained entrance through medical grounds after he was involved in a horrible car crash back in 2013, has been making some progress.

Cayeux will have Ryan Cairns and Benjamin Follet-Smith in today’s final round of the tri-series tournament. Rounds of 66 and 71 saw the former Chapman star settling for 19th place where he is tied with eight others who include multiple Sunshine Tour winner Jean Hugo, who shot 67 and 70.

Follet-Smith is a stroke behind on six under par in his second competitive Sunshine Tour event as a professional. The 22-year-old entered the event through an invitation and is making his presence felt among the leading professionals after he carded 69 and 69.
