Serious in-fighting and divisions rocking the faction-torn CCC party has led to the recalling of Harare Mayor Ian Makone and deputy Kudzai Kadzombe among several other councillors.

Other Harare councillors to be axed include Denford Ngadziore, Lovejoy Chitegu, Samuel Gwenzi, Chido Hamauswa, Tiriboyi Sabina, Florence Cheza and Matimba Fadzai.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Local Government and Public Works Winston Chitando, CCC interim secretary general Mr Sengezo Tshabangu said the recalls are with immediate effect.

“Kindly be advised that the following Councilors were under Citizens Coalition for Change political party, and have ceased to be members of the Citizens Coalition for Change,” read the letter.

The High Court recently upheld his recalls of 15 members of Parliament in October.
