Cde Elliot Bulu Nkomo, who died on 5 September, was buried in Tsholotsho on Saturday.
He was 74.
Liberation War Hero Nkomo who was elected Zanu PF Tsholotsho councillor for ward seven in 1995 felt sick and was admitted at Tsholotsho Hospital on August 25.
On September 4 he was transferred to Mpilo Hospital and he passed on the next day.
Cde Nkomo was born on February 8, 1942 at Matopo.
He later moved to Donda line in Tsholotsho district under chief Siposo.
He attended Khumbula Primary School up to standard six.
He was employed at Castle Breweries up to November 1976.
Liberation War Hero Cde Nkomo joined politics and became Youth Chairman at PF ZAPU. He joined the liberation struggle in December 1976 in Botswana Francis Town Transit Camp under the command of Makepesi.
His war name was Hiliot.
Cde Nkomo proceeded to Lusaka in Zambia and from there, moved to Nampundu Transit Camp. He was transferred to CGT1 Military training camp where he did his military training under commander Siboza.
Cde Nkomo was appointed Political Commissar in Zambia at Fox Hall camp and later deployed to CGT2 up to 1980.
Cde Nkomo moved to Papa assembly point after ceasefire and demobilised in 1981 at KG6.
He remained in the party structures.
Cde Nkomo is survived by his wife Marvis Moyo, 11 children, 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
