THE Manicaland leg of the 2026 Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces Fun Shoot, also known as the CDF Executive Interactive Initiative will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at Gimboki Range in Mutare.
The event brings together senior army officers, business executives, and members of the public for a day of sport, entertainment, and fundraising.
Starting at 9am and running until 4.30pm, the interactive gathering invites families and shooting enthusiasts to support military charitable initiatives across the province.
Manicaland initiative chairman, Martin Nyaundi, said the annual event connects people from diverse backgrounds while generating support for vulnerable community members.
“The Manicaland leg of the 2026 edition of the Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Fun Shoot event – dubbed CDF Executive Interactive Initiative – rolls to life tomorrow (Saturday) at Gimboki Range in Mutare, amid expectations of a carnival family day out experience.
We are encouraging members of the public, business community and families to take advantage of the event and support the charity cause while enjoying a day of sport and entertainment,” he said.
Organisers host the event nationwide to raise funds for the Commander ZDF Golf Day and additional military charity projects.
In previous years, proceeds directly supported vulnerable members of the military community, including children of deceased personnel.
This year’s event emphasises family engagement.
Organisers have made arrangements for children to participate in shooting activities under supervision.
Competitors will vie for prizes across male, female, and youth categories.
In addition to shooting, attendees can participate in family-friendly recreational activities at the range.
“Diverse entertainment activities that include quad bikes and jumping castles will also be on site, with renowned disc jockeys providing musical entertainment,” said Nyaundi.
Food and beverages will be available at the venue.
Adult participation costs US$20, which includes lunch.
To ensure broad access, organisers have arranged bus transportation from various locations, including Penhalonga, Mutare Central Business District, Dangamvura, and Chikanga.
The fun shoot forms part of a broader series of interactive military events designed to strengthen relationships between the defence forces, the private sector, and the general public.
