Cech wanted by Gunners

LONDON. — Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of the transfer race for Petr Cech because he is on the brink of joining Arsenal.

The 33-year-old appears to be edging nearer to a move to the Emirates, having admitted that it would be easier for him and his family to stay in London.

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has also spoken to the Czech goalkeeper about his future, and according to L’Equipe, the move is such a foregone conclusion that PSG have abandoned their efforts to sign him.

Rosicky dropped a hint that international team-mate Cech could be heading for Arsenal.

Arsenal are said to be front-runners to land the Chelsea goalkeeper after he said he would prefer to remain in London.

The 33-year-old confirmed earlier this week that a move away from the capital would cause “difficulties” for him and his family.

“I will decide based on what for me and my family was the best and it does not matter whether it is England, Germany, France and Spain,” he said.

“Next week we will have a meeting with Chelsea when the situation is clearer and all the cards are on the table. If I move, it brings difficulties. I must change everything, looking for housing, a school for children and so on.”

Rosicky said it’s no surprise that “players” want to join a fantastic club like Arsenal.

“I know about some things from both sides but I will not interfere,” he said. It could even turn against me. Both sides know what they are doing. Arsenal is a top world team. Players want to be transferred there [Arsenal], that is nothing new, it is a fantastic club.”

But Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has expressed his unhappiness at the prospect of Cech joining Arsenal, but the decision is likely to rest with Roman Abramovich.

Mourinho has warned clubs chasing Cech that he will raid their squads for players in return for handing them one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all in the frame for £10million rated Cech this summer, with the Stamford Bridge legend certain to leave having been displace by first choice Thibaut Courtois. — Metro-The Daily Express.
