Central league top sides bolster teams

ZIFA Central Soccer League top sides are bolstering their teams as they brace for the second half of the season.

Fixtures on today and tomorrow mark the end of the first half of the season and the league management has announced a two week break with action resuming on August 5.

Nichrut have already snapped Shabanie Mine forward Terrence Rukweza together with the unheralded pair of Tom Sindiso and Clemence Zimondi.

Fellow contenders ZPC Munyati have opted for experience roping in former Shabanie Mine pair of Louis Matawu, Francis Kanda and Obert Chakupe.

Ivan Hoe have also enlisted the services of Best Homera.

Chrome Stars, Black Eagles, Kwekwe Stars, Makusha and ZRP Gwanda have also made new signings.

The transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Whawha gaffer, Luke Petros-Jukulile said he will not be tinkering with his squad as he believes he has enough depth which can challenge for the sole promotional ticket into the premiership.

“We will not be making any changes during this transfer window because we have               enough depth since we merged three teams into one.

“I believe the side is good enough to fight for honours which is our main objective,” said the former Warriors striker.

Meanwhile, Nichrut host Telone this afternoon at Peak Mine Stadium in a tricky affair.

Telone has been the bogey side to teams that are challenging for the championship and may be out to derail the Shurugwi side’s championship charge.

John Nyikadzino, the Nichrut coach                      said he is prepared for the game and his                  side is looking at collecting maximum   points.

“We are prepared for the game and we know the opponents that we are going to face are tough customers.

“We need to maintain consistency and this is the game we have to prove our mettle,” said Nyikadzino.
