Cesc’s sleepless nights

LONDON. — Cesc Fabregas has admitted to enduring sleepless nights as he tries to fathom the reasons behind Chelsea’s alarming slump in fortune. Fabregas says Chelsea’s season is f***ed, saying luck has just completely deserted them. The champions have endured a horror start to the season, losing seven of their opening 12 games to leave them just three points above the relegation zone. Fabregas, who has been a shadow of the player who bamboozled defences last season, admits things just aren’t going their way.

“The season is being f***ed,” told Marca. “Things aren’t working out and the results aren’t doing our performances justice. We’re playing better but aren’t having any luck. “When things are going your way, you flick the ball with your heel and it flies into the top corner, whereas now every pile-driver is going off target.”

Fabregas also again rejected talk of a rift with manager Jose Mourinho. “Things with Mou are good,” he added. “Obviously when you’re not winning things always get said, whereas when you’re winning everything’s rosy.

“When you’re not winning everything is that much harder, but all of us — the players, fans and the coach — have to pull together and be tough.” — The Daily Express.
